To demonstrate an understanding of personal and professional ethics, effective communication with members of the health care team, patients and patient's families, student will learn medical procedures and skills performed by practical nursing, care of the elderly, care of patients with psychological disorders, care of patients who have surgery, care of patients in all stages of human development, assist patients with psychological and social growth, assist with rehabilitation, nutrition as part of healing, knowledge and understanding of disease and its process, signs and symptoms of illness and well-being and education the patient and their family. Caring for the patient’s emotional, physical, mental, and spiritual well- being.
PRACTICAL NURSING – 1350 Clock Hours
· Be at least 18 years.
· Have a high school diploma, GED, or successfully pass the School created Basic Skills Test with a minimum verbal score of 70% and minimum math score of 70% according to program enrolled.
· Have a personal interview.
· Submit a signed enrollment agreement.
· Submit a medical report attesting to good health and a Negative PPD.
Award – Diploma
Individuals who enroll in this program will be able to seek employment at Medicare approved agencies where Practical Nurses are hired. The program follows guidelines established by the Florida Board of Nursing, the student will be able to take the Practical Nursing Licensure Exam In the state of Florida.
The program will prepare student to provide nursing care to clients in hospitals, nursing homes, home healthcare agencies, and other areas in healthcare. Upon satisfactory completion of the program the graduate is eligible to apply to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nursing. Student must apply, take and pass the State of Florida Board of Nursing Certification Exam to be state certified. The Florida Board of Nursing also requires a criminal background for all applicants seeking licensure. Individuals with criminal background checks may not be eligible for licensure or employment. State of Florida licensure is required prior to obtaining employment in this field. Information regarding the Florida State Nursing Assistant exam is available through the Internet and can be accessed on site by our students.
